Clinic Health Room
Not feeling well?
Clinic (703) 208-2410
The clinic is staffed by Fran Adkison, clinic aide and supervised by MaryEllen Wolf, Public Health Nurse (PHN). The clinic is open from 8:00AM – 2:45PM daily. The clinic aide may administer prescriptive and non-prescriptive medications when proper forms are completed. The PHN is available by phone as needed. The PHN is able to counsel students regarding health issues and conduct vision and health screenings.
Screening: All new students and tenth graders are screened for hearing and vision. The public health nurse rechecks any suspected problems. If any problems are detected during the screenings, you will be notified.
Communicable Diseases & Immunization information: Preventing the spread of communicable disease is a serious concern. Please keep your student at home if he/she is ill and notify the school of his/her illness. The school may request a note from a physician certifying that the student is no longer contagious before re-admittance. With your help in this area, the spread of communicable diseases can be minimized. Refer to policy 2108 for the guidelines regarding students who have Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
As of July 2006, all students enrolled in FCPS schools are required to have a series of three (3) Hepatitis B vaccine immunizations. If your child has not had the required immunizations, he/she will not be permitted to return to school. Virginia state law requires your student to attend school. If the immunization documentation is not provided, FCPS truancy procedures will be followed.
