A sign-up sheet has been placed in the Front Office at Cedar Lane for Senior Photo

Day.  Senior Photo Day will take place on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

The photographers from Lifetouch will be set up in the Cedar Lane Gym.

Seniors must sign up for a photo session time, which will include having a photo taken in a tuxedo top, or in a graduation cap and gown.  Photo sessions will take place from 8:30 AM until approximately 2:00 PM. Please contact Mr. Robert Metry at Cedar if you have any questions.

Seniors who are unable to participate in the December 12 photo session can set up a photo session at a Lifetouch location remote from Cedar Lane School.

Winter Break and Building Hours

Please note that Cedar Lane will be closed from December 18, 2023 thru January 1, 2024.  School will resume on Tuesday January 2, 2024.  It will be a Gold Day.

Snow Days This Winter

For the current school year, FCPS will be returning to its previous procedure for snow days — there will be no virtual learning days when school is closed due to bad weather.

During snow days, students may still access, complete any supplemental learning opportunities recommended by their teachers, and view educational programming (available virtually and on public access television channels):

Eleven snow days are built into the existing FCPS calendar. Eliminating virtual learning days will allow us to maximize students’ in-person learning and provide equitable access to instruction and student services.
