The 2017 Regional Scholastic Art Award Winners were announced today.  We are thrilled that our first student to enter from Cedar Lane has won an Honorable Mention in the ceramics category.  William Donald Copas' Cosmic Plate is made from glaze and found objects.  There were over 2600 entries for this contest.

This is what he has to say about his piece:  "It is the most beautiful piece of art I have ever made in my life because it looks like a picture of a Super Nova.  There are all these colors, greens, whites and blues. It was boiling in the kiln and flattened the bottom of a flower pot into a flat plate, because it got so hot in the kiln."

Ms. McHugh and the entire Cedar Lane school are very proud of Cosmic Plate and Donny!
